Water quality classification

This map shows annual means of the SDG 6.3.2 core parameters dissolved oxygen, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and pH in rivers, lakes and reservoirs.

This map shows annual means of the SDG 6.3.2 core parameters dissolved oxygen, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and pH in rivers, lakes and reservoirs.

All data is derived from the GEMStat database and the classification and thresholds are provided by UN Environment (2017) and UN Water (2016).

As the classification covers at the moment only lakes, reservoirs, rivers and streams, GEMStat data on wetlands and groundwater stations are currently not included into the map. In the future more and more parameters and stations will be added.
